Hi -
When I turn my printer on, it immediately tries to download the latest firmware. It always freezes at 00% complete, if I try to exit this process the printer crashes and reboots. I've tried downloading the latest firmware via the website and the app, but it seems I'm already running the latest version available (MALBECPP1N001.2243A.00) so they won't install.
This is frustrating as the printer is stuck in an infinite 'update loop', and I can't turn off the auto-update.
I've tried unplugging it for 60 seconds, this hasn't helped
BTW I'm running Mac OS Ventura 13.2.1, but this isn't an option on the HP dropdown.

I have the same problem as well for a few weeks now. since i have a few days before my 2 years warranty ends, i will return this Printer and you should consider that too, the updates have only given us problems multiple times,I realy don't understand how bad the quality of services can be from HP.
unbelievable.

I had the same problem with my OfficeJet Pro 8024. I found this suggestion on another post - I can't find it now but it worked for me.
Go to HP Customer Support - Knowledge Base
https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/ish_1776648-1643972-16
Download the update to your PC from there and run the exe
It worked !

YUP worked for me too - just downloaded everything one by one via my Win 10 64-bit lappie. Key was however to have clicked away the error message on printer on failed firmware update "Retry/OK" by clicking OK which gives a short window in which the printer is back online - during which the installations have to be done - since I have a garden office - and the printer is in the house for the use of all 6 family members - it did involve some athletic moves 🙂
