I have an HP Office Jet Pro 6968. It was given to my boyfriend brand new in 2018. I just recently have tried to set it up but the printer is not communicating with my computer. My computer has connected with printers before but never with this one. The printer does not display any error messages. The printer has connected to my WiFi no problem.
When I try to download the printer to my computer it displays "failed" on my printer settings on my computer. I have tried many avenues to fix the problem such as troubleshooter on my computer and the troubleshooter software that HP lets you download for installation issues. They either end up taking me in circles or tell me they cannot fix my issue. I've tried the virtual assistant and troubleshooting through HP smart. Nothing is working. Please help.

To assist you better, are you using a MAC or a Win PC?
For now, restart the wireless router, the printer, and the PC
- Make sure the printer and the PC are connected to the same wireless network.
- If you have a Dual-band router and both 2.4GHz and 5GHz networks share the same name/SSID, the printer will not be able to connect to the network. In this case, contact your Internet service provider to assign different names to both the networks.
