I purchased a HPEnvy 6052 printer from Costco that included a black/white and colour cartridge. I am trying to set up my printer for the first time. The printer keeps giving me an error message that it does not recognize the ink cartridges. They are put in the printer properly and the strips have been removed. I have shut the computer off for 10 minutes and then retried with no luck. I have 2 new other cartridges that came with it and no luck

I understand the printer is not recognizing the ink cartridges. I appreciate your efforts in trying to resolve this issue by performing the necessary troubleshooting steps.

 

Make sure the ink cartridges are properly inserted in the printer, you may refer to - Replace HP inkjet printer cartridges

Use HP ink cartridges.

Note: You only have to remove the orange plastic tab and not the golden electronic contacts before inserting the ink cartridges.

 

Kindly perform the steps mentioned in this document - Ink cartridge error

 

If the error persists even after replacing the ink cartridge, please reach out to the HP Technical Support team in your region regarding the replacement options. 

You may create a case on the website to obtain a case number if required. Kindly watch this video to know how.
