Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP Deskjet 3050A J611 is not printing on macOS 15.1.1, there could be several reasons behind it, ranging from driver issues, connectivity problems, or configuration settings. Let’s go through some steps to troubleshoot and hopefully resolve the issue.
1. Check Printer Connection
- USB Connection: If you are using a USB connection, ensure that the cable is securely plugged into both the printer and the Mac.
- Wireless Connection: If the printer is connected via Wi-Fi, make sure the printer and your Mac are on the same network. You can check the printer’s Wi-Fi settings by printing a network configuration page from the printer's control panel.
2. Check Printer Status
- Ensure that the printer is turned on and not showing any error lights or messages.
- Check if the printer has paper and ink.
3. Check Printer Queue
- Sometimes print jobs get stuck in the queue.
- Solution:
- Go to Apple Menu > System Settings > Printers & Scanners.
- Select your HP Deskjet 3050A printer from the list.
- Click on Open Print Queue and cancel any pending print jobs that might be stuck.
4. Restart Printer and Mac
- Turn off your printer and restart your Mac.
- After restarting, turn the printer back on and try printing again.
5. Check Printer Driver
- macOS automatically installs basic drivers for printers, but it’s often best to install the latest drivers directly from HP's website.
- Solution:
- Visit the HP Deskjet 3050A J611 support page on HP’s official website.
- Download and install the latest driver for macOS.
- Restart your Mac and try printing again.
6. Re-add the Printer
- Sometimes removing and re-adding the printer can solve connection issues.
- Solution:
- Go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners.
- Select your HP printer and click the minus (-) sign to remove it.
- Click the plus (+) sign to add the printer again. macOS should automatically detect the printer, and you can follow the instructions to add it.
7. Reset Printing System (Last Resort)
- If none of the above works, you can try resetting the printing system. This will remove all printers and reset settings for the printing system.
- Solution:
- Go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners.
- Right-click (or Control-click) on the printer list and select Reset printing system.
- After the reset, add your printer again by clicking the plus (+) sign.
8. Check for macOS Updates
- Sometimes, printing issues can be related to bugs in the current macOS version.
- Solution:
- Go to Apple Menu > System Preferences > Software Update.
- Check if there are any available updates for macOS.
- Install the updates, restart your Mac, and try printing again.
9. Check for Wireless Printing Issues
- If you're printing wirelessly, make sure the printer is properly connected to the Wi-Fi network.
- Solution:
- Print a network configuration page from your printer (you can usually do this from the printer settings).
- Ensure your Mac and printer are on the same network.
- Check the printer's wireless settings on its display or through the printer's control panel.
10. Use HP Smart App
- If you have the HP Smart app installed on your Mac, it can help troubleshoot and manage print jobs.
- Solution:
- Open the HP Smart app on your Mac.
- Check for any notifications or alerts regarding your printer.
- If needed, follow the troubleshooting steps provided by the app.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
