HP Smart Scan still NOT a workaround for my model Printer/Scanner: HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus e-All-in-One Printer - N911g
HP Smart from the Mac App Store allows printing and scanning with SELECT HP printers: NOT OURS. WHICH?
We do NOT have the HP scanner driver software we need for our HP product to scan.
HP, WHERE IS THE DRIVER which should look something like??? Ours is NOT listed.

Further, the following response is NOT a solution after trying Shlomi's advice here: Additionally, you may install HP Smart from the Mac App Store, which should allow printing and scanning with select HP printers:
- Automatic Document Feeder is Empty
- Scan Unsuccessful
- Preparing to scan (STICKS & GOES NOWHERE)

The printer driver is available for macOS 10.15 on the HP Support site. Download the HP Easy Start application from here through which the printer driver gets downloaded.
Alternatively, HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus E-All-In-One Printer - N911g is AirPrint compatible too. You may use the AirPrint drivers to install the printer on the MAC
You may use the HP Easy Scan or Apple Image Capture app to scan from your MAC
