Product: HP Officejet 5255 all-in-one printer
Operating System: Microsoft Windows XP

If I install, only the basic driver for my  HP office-jet 5255  all-in-one printer, will I be able to scan too?  I am, unfortunately, still running xp. My HP office-jet 5255 is compatible with xp but I have limited space.  I have two download options on the HP site: 

HP OfficeJet 5200 All-in-One Printer series Basic Driver  or HP OfficeJet 5200 All-in-One Print and Scan Driver and Accessories.  I want to only be able to print and scan.  I do not need all the other bells and whistles.  Please help me chose.

Hi,

You must install the basic software to get print and scan capabilities.

 

How much free hard disk space do you have? be aware that for basic print and scan capabilities, you must have at least 850 MB available hard disk space at your operating system's drive to install the printer and be able to print and scan.
