I recently purchased a computer with snapdragon processor and Windows on ARM.
I cannot get the printer driver for HP Color Laserjet Pro M277 from HP to work on it.
What should I do?
Regards
/Roland

@rolandolsson, Welcome to HP Support Community,
Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue
Windows on ARM operates differently compared to traditional Windows operating systems powered by Intel or AMD processors. Unfortunately, some drivers designed for x86 or x64 architectures may not work seamlessly on ARM-based systems.
Check Printer Driver Compatibility:
- Ensure that the driver you have attempted to install is ARM compatible. Often, drivers designed for traditional processors may not work on ARM architecture.
Use Universal Print Driver or Microsoft Class Drivers:
- Instead of the specific driver for the HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M277, try using an HP Universal Print Driver, or rely on the default Microsoft class drivers provided in Windows. These might offer basic printing functionality.
- On your ARM-based computer, you can go to Settings > Devices > Printers & scanners > Add a printer or scanner. Windows will search for available drivers if the device is connected.
HP Smart App Setup:
- Download the HP Smart App from the Microsoft Store. This app is compatible with ARM-based devices and might help in setting up your HP printer.
- Follow in-app instructions to add and configure your printer. This app provides scanning functionalities as well, which might bypass the traditional driver requirement.
Update for ARM Devices:
- Periodically check the HP support site to see if new ARM-compatible drivers have been released for your printer model.
I hope this helps.
