I have a Wi-Fi printer and down loaded the HP software. Four times in the past week the printer has not recognised a print command from my computer. Each time I have had to down loan the soft ware again. I have been advised by my IT support package providers based on a message that has come up on my computer more than once that the problem is the dynamic IP adddress. I have contacted my internet provider to request a static IP address for my printer but have been told that they do not provide this. They say that there should be a solution so that the printer and computer automatically update when the IP address changes every three or four days (for security I understand) and to contact HP.
Help please

Welcome to the HP Forums!
Thank you for posting your query on this forum, it's a great place to find answers.
Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.
I recommend you download and run the print and scan doctor from the below article and check whether the issue is resolved.
https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c03286146
If you continue facing the issue, I recommend you update the printer firmware following the steps in the below article and test.
https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c02919168
If the issue persists, I recommend you follow the below steps and assign a static IP to the printer.
Make sure the printer is connected to the network, then assign a static IP to the printer:
- Obtain the IP address of the printer – You can touch the “wireless” icon on the printer control panel to get the IP address.
- Type the IP address on your web browser to obtain the printer EWS page on your computer.
- Go to "Network" tab - General - Select "Network protocols" - Select "Enable IPv4 only" (or similar) - Apply the settings.
- Go to the “Network” tab – Click on “Wireless (802.11) – Then click on “Network address (IPv4)
- Click on the radio button which says “Manual IP” and then click “Suggest a manual IP address” to give a manual IP address to your printer.
- Click on radio button which says “Manual DNS Server” and under manual preferred type 8.8.8.8 and under manual alternate type 8.8.4.4 (This is Google DNS server address)
Let me know how it goes and you have a great day!
