If you see a message that indicates one or more cartridges appear to be damaged, follow the steps below to resolve the issue:
Cause:
Poor electrical contact between the cartridge and printer, or the cartridges are damaged.
Solution:
Remove and Reinsert Cartridges:
- Open the printer's cartridge access door.
- Remove the indicated cartridge(s).
- Reinsert the cartridges, ensuring they are correctly installed.
Clean Electrical Contacts:
- Use a lint-free cloth to gently wipe the electrical contacts on the cartridges and inside the printer.
Replace Defective Cartridges:
- If the message persists, replace the indicated cartridge(s) with new, genuine HP cartridges.
