My printer got stuck with message "ink system error". Despite several attempts to clean-up the printer head the error is still shown. I wish to proceed with a printer reset but I know that for re-booting I will need the setup cartridges.

Being the printer quite old, I don't have setup cartdriges anylonger.

Is there a way to bypass the set-up cartridges checks and proceed with a re-boot with a standard compatible cartridges ?

Few user solved the issue but I always see in all the posts that the solution is being communicated on private message ...

thanks for helping.

regards.

Gabriele

@gabryumts, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

This seems like a hardware issue with the printhead of the printer. Resetting the printer may not help.

Kindly perform the steps mentioned in this document.

To override the use of setup ink cartridges, the reset instructions are specific for your printer and performing those steps on a different printer may corrupt the device. I will send you the instructions in a private message.

Let me know how this goes.
