I recently installed my HP6000 all-in-one printer. I downloaded the drivers and completed the setup, It is printing out test pages in a continuous loop. I tried shutting it off and then unplugging it. Both times it went back into the test page loop. How do I get this printer to print properly?

Hi @Pat19571,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
When a printer continuously prints test pages, it can be due to a variety of reasons ranging from software issues to stuck print jobs. Here are some steps you can try to resolve the issue with your HP ENVY 6052e All-In-One Printer on a Windows 10 (32-Bit) system:
Cancel All Print Jobs:
- Open the Control Panel on your computer.
- Navigate to "Devices and Printers" or "Printers & scanners".
- Right-click on your HP ENVY 6052e printer and select "See what's printing".
- If there are any pending jobs, click on "Printer" in the top menu, then choose "Cancel All Documents". This will clear any stuck print jobs.
Check the Printer Queue:
- Sometimes, the print queue itself can get corrupted. Clearing the print queue manually might help:
- Type services.msc in the Windows search box and press Enter.
- Scroll down and find the "Print Spooler" service.
- Right-click on it and select "Stop".
- Now, navigate to C:\Windows\System32\spool\PRINTERS (you might need administrator permission to access this folder).
- Delete all files in the PRINTERS folder.
- Go back to the "Services" window, right-click on "Print Spooler" again, and choose "Start".
Reset the Printer:
- Since you mentioned unplugging it, let's try a more comprehensive reset:
- With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the printer.
- Wait at least 60 seconds.
- Reconnect the power cord and turn the printer back on.
Check for Hardware Issues:
- Make sure there's no paper jam or any small pieces of paper stuck inside the printer that might be causing it to print test pages continuously.
Update Printer Firmware:
- Sometimes, firmware issues can cause erratic printer behavior. Visit the HP Customer Support - Software and Driver Downloads page, find your printer model, and check if there's an updated firmware available for your printer. Follow the instructions to update the firmware. Click Here
Reinstall Printer Drivers:
- Uninstall and then reinstall your printer drivers. You can download the latest drivers from the HP website. Make sure to download the drivers that match your operating system version.
Check Printer Settings:
- Access the printer settings through the HP printer software on your computer. Ensure that there are no settings inadvertently set to print a test page every time the printer starts up.
If after trying these steps your printer still continuously prints test pages, it might indicate a more serious hardware issue.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
