Hi @Bobo5858,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP OfficeJet Pro 6970 is asking for a WPS PIN during the reinstallation process, you can try the following steps.

Look for the WPS PIN on the Printer:

  • Check the printer's control panel or display for any option related to WPS or Wireless Direct.
  • The WPS PIN might be displayed on the printer's screen during the setup process.

Printer Information Page:

  • Print a network configuration page or printer information page from your printer. The steps for this might vary, but generally, you can find it in the printer settings or by pressing specific buttons on the printer's control panel.
  • The WPS PIN might be listed on the information page.

Default WPS PIN:

  • Sometimes, the default WPS PIN for HP printers is often 8 digits, and it might be labeled as "WPS PIN" on the printer.

Check Router Label:

  • If you are connecting the printer to a wireless network, check your router for a label that might contain the WPS PIN. Some routers have a WPS PIN printed on a label.

Software Installation:

  • If you are installing the printer using software on a computer, there might be an option to skip the WPS PIN entry and proceed with a different method. Look for an option like "Skip" or "Connect without PIN."

Use WPS Button on Router:

  • Some routers have a WPS button. If your router has this button, press the WPS button on the router, and then follow the instructions on the printer's screen to complete the setup.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
