Hi @osegelaptop,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your printer!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Try these steps:

Check System Requirements:

  • Ensure your computer meets the system requirements for the printer.

Disable Antivirus/Firewall:

  • Temporarily disable any antivirus software or firewall during the installation process, as they may block certain operations.

Use USB Connection:

  • If you are installing wirelessly, try switching to a wired USB connection to see if the installation proceeds faster.

Installation Process:

Download Latest Driver:

  • Visit the HP Support page and download the latest drivers specific to your operating system for the LaserJet P1102.

Run Installer as Administrator:

  • Right-click the installer file and select "Run as administrator." This can prevent permission-related issues during installation.

Check Connection:

  • Ensure that the USB cable is connected properly, and switch ports if necessary. Avoid using USB hubs for a direct connection.

Post-Installation:

Update Printer Firmware:

  • If possible, update the printer firmware through the HP support site. Firmware updates can sometimes resolve compatibility or installation speed issues.

Re-enable Security Software:

  • Once the installation is complete, don’t forget to re-enable your antivirus or firewall software.

I hope this helps.
