@Birte3, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding Issues with Account or Ink in HP Smart App!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

If your printer is showing an issue with your account or ink in the HP Smart app, but the printer itself does not indicate any issues, follow these steps to resolve the problem:

1. Check the ink cartridges:

Remove and reinsert the ink cartridges to ensure they are seated properly in the carriage.

  1. Turn on the printer, and then open the door or lid to the cartridge access area.
  2. Wait until the carriage is idle and silent before you continue.
  3. Push the ink cartridge to remove it, and then push it into its slot until it snaps into place.
  4. Repeat these steps to remove and reinsert the other cartridges.
  5. Close the door or lid to the cartridge access area.

Removing and reinserting the ink cartridge

2. Update the printer firmware:

Regularly update the printer firmware to ensure it is functioning correctly.

From the printer control panel (network printers only):

  1. Touch the Setup icon (gear icon).
  2. Touch Printer Maintenance.
  3. Touch Update Printer.
  4. Touch Check Now. Any new updates will install automatically.

From the HP Smart app:

  1. From the app home screen, click the image of your printer.
  2. Click Advanced Settings.
  3. From the Embedded Web Server (EWS), click the Printer Update tile or click Printer Updates under Manage, and then click Check Now. Any new updates will install automatically.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
