Hi @FrankG45,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand your HP OfficeJet Pro 8139e All-in-One Printer shows an error that it's not connected to the internet, but you've confirmed that it is connected to your WiFi, try the following steps to resolve the issue:
1. Restart Devices
- Restart the printer: Turn it off, unplug it for 1-2 minutes, and then plug it back in and turn it on.
- Restart your router: Unplug the router for 30 seconds, then plug it back in and allow it to fully restart.
- Restart your computer: Restart your Windows 10 PC to ensure all settings are refreshed.
2. Reconnect the Printer to WiFi
- On the printer's control panel, go to Settings > Network Setup > Wireless Settings.
- Choose Wireless Setup Wizard and follow the on-screen instructions to reconnect your printer to your WiFi network.
- Confirm that the printer's control panel shows it is connected to the correct WiFi network.
3. Check IP Address
- On the printer's control panel, go to Network Information or Wireless Settings.
- Note down the IP address shown. This should be a valid IP address, usually something like 192.168.x.x.
- On your PC, open a web browser and type in this IP address to access the printer’s Embedded Web Server (EWS). If it opens, the printer is properly connected to the network.
4. Run HP Print and Scan Doctor HP Print and Scan Doctor
- Download and run the HP Print and Scan Doctor tool from HP's website.
- This tool will automatically troubleshoot and fix issues related to printer connectivity.
5. Update Printer Firmware Update the firmware on an HP printer
- Go to Settings > Printer Maintenance > Update the Printer on the printer’s control panel, and check for any available firmware updates.
- You can also download the latest firmware from the HP support website and install it manually.
6. Assign a Static IP Address
- If the IP address changes frequently, assign a static IP to the printer:
- Open the Embedded Web Server using the printer's IP address in a browser.
- Go to Network > Wireless (802.11) or IPv4 Configuration.
- Set the IP manually, ensuring it’s in the range of your router's IP addresses (e.g., 192.168.1.250).
7. Check Network Settings on the Computer
- Make sure your computer is connected to the same WiFi network as the printer.
- Disable any VPN or firewall temporarily to see if it's blocking communication between the computer and the printer.
8. Re-add the Printer to Windows
- On your PC, go to Settings > Devices > Printers & Scanners.
- Select your printer and click Remove Device.
- Click Add a Printer and follow the instructions to add your printer again.
