macOS 12.0 Monterey

We recently upgraded our MacBook software to OS Monterey 12.7.6; our printer is not recognizing the new software.  We have troubleshooted, followed the steps and it still is not working

If your HP OfficeJet 4650 All-in-One Printer is not recognizing macOS Monterey 12.7.6, follow these detailed troubleshooting steps to resolve the issue:

Ensure Printer Firmware is Updated:

  • Visit the HP support website to check for any firmware updates for your printer model.
  • Download and install any available firmware updates.

Download Updated Drivers:

  • Go to HP's Software and Driver Downloads page.
  • Select your printer model (HP OfficeJet 4650) and your operating system (macOS Monterey 12.7.6).
  • Download the latest printer drivers and software compatible with macOS Monterey.

Uninstall and Reinstall Printer Drivers:

  • Open the System Preferences on your Mac.
  • Select Printers & Scanners.
  • Remove the HP OfficeJet 4650 from the list.
  • Restart your computer.
  • Reinstall the drivers downloaded from the HP website.

Check USB or Network Connection:

  • Ensure your printer is properly connected to your computer via USB or Wi-Fi.
  • For Wi-Fi setups, ensure that the printer and computer are connected to the same network.
