I have done all that , more than once. I guess like all the other users I will have to wait until Apple and HP sort things out. Alternatively I can buy another printer. Will HP give me a discount?

Are you not able to print?

What happens when you try to install the printer using AirPrint driver?

  • Make sure the printer and the MAC are connected to the same wireless network.
  • This printer supports only 2.4GHz network.
  • If you have a Dual-band router and both 2.4GHz and 5GHz networks share the same name/SSID, the printer will not be able to connect to the network. In this case, contact your Internet service provider to assign different names to both the networks.

Keep me posted.

WE Can Not Print!!!!

HP Envy 5530 will not print!  If I could print the document to scan it I would not need to call you!!!

This is over a month of complaints!!!!

What are the results of the steps provided?

Did you check the communication between the printer and the MAC?

Perform a ping test

  1. Obtain the IP address of the printer by clicking on the Wireless icon on the printer
  2. On the MAC Go to Spotlight > search for Network utility > select Ping tab > enter the IP address of the printer in the box
  3. Check the second box that says Send only > 10 pings
  4. Click on ping > Check the results at the end if any packets are lost
  5. Note: There should be 0% packet loss, share the results in your next post.

You will still be able to print using AirPrint driver without using HP Easy Scan.

Keep me posted.

This shows that there is no communication between the printer and the MAC. Kindly perform the troubleshooting steps provided in my previous post to resolve connectivity issues.

If the printer and the MAC are able to communicate with each other, you will be able to print.

Keep me posted.

THANK YOU> My printer now works.

What I hadn't done before was switch off my router as well as the printer and the mac. Obviously all three have to be switched off.

I can SCAN too which is excellent.

I also have a CANON PIXMA MP640 which is working too, well almost: it prints but doesn't scan. Perhaps I'll have a fiddle around.

Thanks for your perseverance.

I am having exact problem with my HP Envy 5530 All in one printer.

One of the messages from HP says they are working with Apple to resolve....this is 2019 I cannot believe it is taking this long!  And with all the complaints and questions online!!!  This should have been tested and ready before catalina came out right?  Or something!!
