Officejet 6950. My printer is connected to the wifi, i have tried the usual resets of the printer, PC, router. i can scan to my computer, so i know it communicates from printer to computer, but when i try to print is says printer offline. or will randomly print hours later or the next day, not sure what to do next?

Hi @dillydongles ,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP Officejet 6950 is showing as offline when you try to print, even though it is connected to the Wi-Fi and you can scan to your computer, there are a few troubleshooting steps you can try to resolve the issue:
Check Printer Connection:
- Ensure that your printer is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your computer.
- Confirm that there are no connectivity issues with the Wi-Fi network.
Printer Status:
- Check the printer display for any error messages or notifications that might indicate the problem.
- Make sure there is enough paper in the printer tray and there are no paper jams.
Printer Queue:
- Open the print queue on your computer to see if there are any pending print jobs. Delete any stuck print jobs.
- For Windows: Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers, right-click on your printer, and select "See what's printing." Remove any pending jobs.
- For Mac: Go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners, select your printer, and click on the "Open Print Queue" button. Clear any pending jobs.
Restart Devices:
- Turn off your printer, computer, and router.
- Wait for a few minutes, then turn them back on in the following order: router, printer, and computer.
Printer Software:
- Make sure your printer drivers are up-to-date. Visit the HP website to download and install the latest drivers for your printer model.
Firewall and Antivirus Settings:
- Check if your firewall or antivirus software is blocking communication between the printer and computer. Temporarily disable them to see if it resolves the issue.
IP Address Configuration:
- Ensure that the printer has a static IP address rather than a dynamic one. This helps in maintaining a consistent connection.
Reinstall Printer:
- Remove the printer from your computer and reinstall it.
- For Windows: Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers, right-click on your printer, and select "Remove device." Then, reinstall the printer.
- For Mac: Go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners, select your printer, and click on the "-" button. Then, add the printer again.
HP Print and Scan Doctor:
- Download and run the HP Print and Scan Doctor utility from the HP website. This tool can automatically diagnose and resolve printing problems.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.-
