@Lmadi, Hi there, and welcome to HP Support Community!

Thank you for reaching out with your concern. I'm glad to assist you today.

I understand your HP printer is only printing a diagnostic page and not responding to regular print jobs, even after installing a new toner. Let’s walk through a few steps to resolve this:

Check for Error Messages or Lights

  • Look at the printer’s control panel or display screen for any error codes or warnings.
  • If you see a message like “Printer in Diagnostic Mode” or “Printing Diagnostic Page Only,” it may be stuck in a service or startup mode.

Power Cycle the Printer

  • Turn off the printer completely.
  • Unplug it from the power source for 60 seconds.
  • Plug it back in and turn it on. This can reset temporary glitches.

Check Toner Cartridge Installation

  • Open the toner access door and remove the toner cartridge.
  • Reinstall it carefully, ensuring it clicks into place.
  • Use only genuine HP toner cartridges to avoid compatibility issues.

Cancel Pending Print Jobs

  • On your computer, go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
  • Right-click your HP printer and select See what’s printing.
  • Cancel all pending jobs.
  • Try printing a test page again.

Update Printer Firmware

Outdated firmware can cause unexpected behavior:
