I just got an HP laser printer 3301 fdw.  I get a message saying paper tray is empty, but it still prints.  On the screen it shows a second paper tray.  Where is that one?

Not really a tray, simply a single sheet bypass paper path so you can feed a piece of non-standard paper without unloading the tray.

I thank you for your response but I’m still confused as to why the screen would say one tray is empty and the other one has paper. It almost like there’s a second “secret”

paper tray and when I go to print something, I get a message saying paper tray is empty. Then it prints the job.  I actually took a couple of pictures and posted them, after you first responded.  The other thing that really annoys me about HP is there is zero customer service after the sale.
