Hi @11JLA,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand your HP OfficeJet 3830 is being set up to allow printing from anywhere using the HP Smart app. Let’s go through a few steps to check what could be causing this and how to enable the feature.

Install the HP Smart app

Download HP Smart from the Microsoft Store, Apple App Store, or Google Play.

Sign in with your HP account to access remote printing features.

Connect the printer to Wi-Fi

On the printer’s control panel, go to Wireless Settings → Wireless Setup Wizard.

Connect to your home Wi-Fi network and confirm the printer shows “Connected.”

Enable HP Smart Advance / Print Anywhere

Open the HP Smart app and select your printer.

Go to “Advanced Settings” or “Print Anywhere” and toggle it on.

This allows you to send print jobs from anywhere in the world.

Verify HP account link

The printer must be linked to your HP account for remote printing.

In the app, check that your printer shows under “My Printers.”

Test remote printing

From your phone or PC, send a document to print while away from your Wi-Fi.

The job should queue and print once the printer is online.

Keep printer powered and connected

Leave the printer plugged in and connected to Wi-Fi.

This ensures it can receive jobs and helps prevent ink from drying out.

I hope this helps.
