I went through the setup process with this printer. I hooked it up to my hp account and through wifi. Printed and scanned the align printhead sheet multiple times. It will show that the printer is set up and ready to print and will let me test print a page but then when I send something to the printer, it shows up that the printer set up is incomplete. I keep going back through the process over and over and it does the same thing. Someone help please

Hi @Lynn432, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
This issue usually occurs due to an incomplete setup process, or a problem with HP Smart. Here’s what you can do to resolve it:
Check HP Smart for Setup Completion
- Open HP Smart on your PC or mobile device.
- If there is a Setup Incomplete message, click on it and follow any remaining steps.
- If HP Smart keeps prompting for setup, remove the printer and re-add it:
- Go to Settings > Printers & Scanners (Windows) or System Preferences > Printers & Scanners (Mac).
- Remove the HP OfficeJet 8015e printer.
- Open HP Smart, select Add Printer, and go through the setup again.
Reset Printer and Reconnect
- Restore the printer to factory settings:
- On the printer, go to Setup > Printer Maintenance > Restore > Restore Factory Defaults.
- Restart the printer.
- Reconfigure the Wi-Fi Connection:
- On the printer, go to Setup > Network Setup > Wireless Settings.
- Select Restore Network Settings.
- Use HP Smart or Wi-Fi Direct to reconnect.
Uninstall & Reinstall HP Smart
- Windows:
- Open Control Panel > Programs & Features.
- Uninstall HP Smart and any other HP software.
- Restart your computer.
- Reinstall HP Smart from the Microsoft Store.
- Mac:
- Go to Applications > HP Smart, move it to Trash, and empty Trash.
- Restart your Mac and reinstall HP Smart from the App Store.
Try Printing via USB
- Connect the printer via USB to your computer.
- Install the printer manually (without HP Smart):
- Windows: Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers > Add a Printer.
- Mac: Go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners > Add Printer.
- Try printing and see if the issue persists.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
