HP Laser MFP 135w

Printer is a HP Laser MFP 135w

I turn on the power, and the screen shows "System Initialise". After a few seconds it changes to "Wait Image".

On a Windows PC, I used usblist2.exe to install MFP135series_3inOne_WorldWide_V3.82.01.17_DS.hd. The output was:

Printing to PRINTER

Printing...(8196096/8196702)

Printing complete...!

On the printer it says: "Program Complete"...  then "System Initialising"... then "Wait Image"

I cannot connect to the printer using HP Smart on either Mac or Windows - perhaps because the Wait Image message is there?

I conclude that I need a way to perform a Factory Reset (to revert to the original device drivers) - but I cannot do this from any HP software, because it won't connect.

Please can you inform me how to perform a hard factory reset, using only the buttons on the printer?

Thanks.

@TEJ1602 can you help?

You gave factory reset instructions in this post: https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Printer-Setup-Software-Drivers/Factory-resetting-Laser-MFP-135w/td-p/7...

Hi @lehomme,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd like to help!

I understand the printer is stuck on a wait image error and you would like to reset the printer

We can perform a factory default on the printer to resolve the issue

  • The reset instructions are specific for your printer and performing those steps on a different printer may corrupt the device.
  • I've sent you a private message with reset instructions, follow the reset instruction to perform a full reset and re-initialize the printer.
  • In order to access your private messages, click the private message icon on the upper right corner of your HP Support Community profile, next to your profile Name or simply click on this link: https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/notes/privatenotespag

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
