Hi @Tanya125

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query.

I understand that  your HP ENVY 5055 displays"Cannot Print" or refuses to print, the most common causes are a paper jam, ink cartridge issue, connection problem, or a stuck print queue. I would request you to please share me the picture of the error displayed. Meanwhile, I would request you to please follow the steps:

Restart the printer

  • Turn the printer off.
  • Unplug the power cord from the printer and wall outlet.
  • Wait 60 seconds.
  • Plug it back in and turn it on.

Check for printer errors

Look for:

  • Paper jams
  • Empty paper tray
  • Low or missing ink cartridges
  • Flashing lights on the control panel

Verify ink cartridges

  • Open the cartridge access door.
  • Remove and firmly reinstall both cartridges.
  • Ensure the protective tape has been removed from new cartridges.
  • Replace any empty or defective cartridges if necessary.

Print a self-test page

  • If the printer can print its own reports but not from your computer/phone, the issue is likely with the connection or driver rather than the printer hardware. [h30434.www3.hp.com]

Check the print queue

  • On Windows:
    • Settings → Bluetooth & devices → Printers & scanners → HP ENVY 5055
    • Open print queue
    • Cancel all pending jobs
    • Try printing again.

Hope this helps, Please revert if the issue persists.

Take care and have an amazing day!

I'm an HP Employee.
