HP DeskJet F4200 Series
macOS 10.12 Sierra

I've been using my HP Deskjet F4235 for over a year with a MacBook Air, running OS Sierra 10.12.6. Suddenly it stopped printing and I get the error message: Can't install the software because it is not currently available from the Software Updates server. I've already manually downloaded the driver and tried everything that I've found online to add the printer, but the same message pops up at the end of the process. What am I missing???

@shoke, welcome to HP Support Community!

I would recommend you to first delete the existing printer entry from your Mac.

Follow the steps below:

Click the Apple menu, click System Preferences, and then click Print & Scan or Printers & Scanners

Click the printer name, click the minus - sign to delete the printer.

Remove the USB cable and restart your Mac.

Now download the HP Printer Drivers from here

.

Connect the USB cable and add the printer back.

Follow the steps below:

Click the Apple menu, click System Preferences, and then click Print & Scan or Printers & Scanners

Click the plus + sign, click Add Printer or Scanner, click the printer name(HP Deskjet F4200 Series)

Try printing and let me know the outcome.

Cheers 🙂
