My printer said I had to "finish setup" before I could scan, even though it was scanning fine yesterday. I clicked the finish setup button and logged in, but now it is just stuck on a page which says "Loading your instant ink trial"  with a blue circle that just goes round and round... It's been stuck like that for at least 40 minutes. What's wrong with it?

@Sunsetbeach, Welcome to the HP Support Community! I’m here to help.

To assist you better, is this happening on the HP Smart app?

Restart the printer and the computer.

If the issue persists, reinstall the HP Smart app and check if that helps.

Hope this helps! Let me know how it goes.

I found the solution by temporarily disabling firewall on my PC.  Apparently my virus protection software automatically has been blocking certain programs to run, and as soon as I disabled it, the setup proceeded to the next page and was finished.  I wish the HP app would have said something like it couldn’t proceed due to firewall and recommended to turn it off, rather than displaying the forever loading spin.  All in all, try turning off your firewall (then turn it back on as needed when the setup is complete) if any of you reading this is still struggling with this problem.
