HPEEC553 (Desktop 2700 series)
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi All, My new printer is driving me crazy. I do not know if this is because I first used HP Smart while I was living in US and I now live in the UK, or because it is a company laptop I am trying to use the printer with. I have succesfully added my printer using it's IP address, but it now appears on my system as "Scan Only - HPEEC553 (HP Deskjet 2700 series)-DO NOT DELETE".

I have also managed to get it printing and scanning. However, I cannot add it to HP smart to use all of the HP tools. When I log into HP Smart and try to add my printer, it states that the printer is online and shows the same IP address. As soon as I click on the box to add this printer, it says "Select a Different Printer" "HP Deskjet 2700 series must be turned on to add it to HP Smart. Once the printer is turned on, tap OK to refresh and then select the printer again".

The printer is on and is working. HP smart initially detects it as online, so why am I getting this message as soon as I try to add. I have tried HP Print and Scan Doctor and a dozen other software's that HP installed, but nothing fixes this. It is driving me crazy!

Welcome to the HP support community.

I have brought your issue to the attention of an appropriate team within HP. They will likely request information from you in order to look up your case details or product serial number. Please look for a private message from an identified HP contact. Additionally, keep in mind not to publicly post personal information (serial numbers and case details).

If you are unfamiliar with how the Community's private message capability works, you can learn about that here.

Thank you for visiting the HP Support Community.
