New printer started ok then randomly would stop. Queue has items waiting to print on variations of the same printer (*printer name* copy 2. *printer name* copy 3 etc.).

Diagnostics comes up as ok though desk top and app.

Hi @DeanJets,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

I understand how  it must be when your new printer starts off fine but then suddenly stops, especially with jobs piling up in the queue.

Could you please share the printer model number with me?

Also, let me know if the issue happens only when printing from your desktop, or if it occurs from the mobile app as well.

In the meantime, here are a few steps you can try:

Clear print queue: Delete all pending jobs from the queue, then try printing a fresh document.

Remove duplicate printer entries: Sometimes Windows creates multiple “copy” versions of the same printer. Go to Devices and Printers and remove extra copies, keeping only the main one.

Restart printer and PC: Power cycle both devices to refresh the connection.

Check default printer setting: Ensure the correct printer (not “copy 2” or “copy 3”) is set as default.

Update drivers: Outdated drivers can cause random stoppages. Download the latest drivers from HP’s support website https://support.hp.com/ .

I hope this helps.

I'm an HP Employee.
