My HP smart tank will not process jobs regardless of the job or the connectivity. It won’t print, it won’t scan. I don’t know what to do.

@camiami13, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP Smart Tank printer is not processing print or scan jobs regardless of connectivity, here are some targeted troubleshooting steps you can try:

Use HP Smart App’s “Diagnose & Fix” Tool

HP includes a built-in tool in the HP Smart app for Windows and macOS that can:

  • Clear stuck print jobs
  • Resume paused jobs
  • Fix print spooler errors
  • Reconnect offline printers
  • Update drivers and firmware

Power Cycle the Printer

  • Turn off the printer.
  • Unplug it from the power source.
  • Wait 2–3 minutes.
  • Plug it back in and turn it on.

Check for Firmware Updates

  • Open the HP Smart app.
  • Go to Settings > Printer Settings > Advanced Settings.
  • Look for Firmware Update and install if available.

Reset Network Settings

If you're using Wi-Fi:

  • On the printer, go to Wireless > Settings > Restore Network Settings.
  • Reconnect using the HP Smart app.

Try USB Connection

If Wi-Fi is unreliable, try connecting the printer directly to your computer via USB to rule out network issues.

Reset Printing System (Mac only)

  • Go to System Settings > Printers & Scanners.
  • Right-click your printer and choose Reset Printing System.
  • Re-add the printer.

I hope this helps.
