HP OfficeJet 8015e All-in-One Printer
Microsoft Windows 11

I purchased, and installed, the HP OfficeJet 8015e on my HP Laptop back in March of this year (2925). It has worked flawlessly until last night.  When I try to print anything, it just keeps loading and never stops.  When I went to settings, it shows no printers installed, so I tried to add it manually, but when I try to add the printer, it goes to a window that says its loading, but it never finishes.  This is the second printer that has done this on this laptop.  The only way I was able to print after the first printer "uninstalled itself" was to buy a new printer.  The first printer was a cheap one, so I purchased the 8015e, which was a more expensive printer, hoping that it was a better quality and I wound not have the same problem.  But here I am 3 months later and not able to print a darn thing.  I really do not want to have to buy a new printer every 3 months.  Any suggestions on how I can retrieve my printer would be greatly appreciated.

@Bellabbie2022, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
Here's a step-by-step guide to help resolve the issue with your HP OfficeJet 8015e All-in-One Printer not installing or showing up on your Windows 11 S Mode laptop:

Confirm Windows 11 S Mode Restrictions

Windows 11 S Mode only allows apps from the Microsoft Store. This means:

  • You must use the HP Smart app from the Microsoft Store to install and manage your printer.

Remove Any Existing Printer Entries

  1. Go to Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Printers & scanners.
  2. If your printer is listed, click it and select Remove device.

Reset the Printer’s Network Settings

To ensure a clean setup:

  • On the printer’s touchscreen, go to Settings > Network Setup > Restore Network Settings.
  • This puts the printer in Wi-Fi setup mode (blinking blue light).

Install the HP Smart App from Microsoft Store

  1. Open the Microsoft Store on your laptop.
  2. Search for HP Smart and install it.
  3. Launch HP Smart and sign in or create an HP account (required for HP+ printers like the 8015e).

Add the Printer via HP Smart

  1. Make sure your laptop is connected to the same Wi-Fi network you want the printer on.
  2. In HP Smart, click “+ Add Printer”.
  3. Follow the on-screen steps to detect and install the printer.

Test Printing

Once installed, try printing a test page from HP Smart or any document.

If the Issue Persists

  • Restart your laptop and printer.
  • Ensure Windows is up to date: Go to Settings > Windows Update.
  • If HP Smart still doesn’t detect the printer, try uninstalling and reinstalling the app.

I hope this helps.
