Ok, the title may sound wierd, but its simply the truth!
The printer works, it prints it copies and windows and browsers send succesfully printing comands and the printer responds emidietly!
I have HP Easy, but i do not use it, because its simply not "EASY"
whatever i install from HP, it does not work, Easy print does not work, driver installations does not work, heck even the wireless function does not work since i bought the printer and ive used a cable ever since.
Now the reason you may say for this is that the printer is defective, no the printer is completely fine and windows says so, its online for windows, its connected for windows via internet, but no matter what hp app i use that printer does not work for any of it.
for years i ignored HP apps and used windows drivers to print my stuff via cable, but today it just hapened that i need to scan something, but there is no option in the windows device manager for scaning, usually its a seperate device showcased as a seperate thing from the printer, but now i cannot see it, simply it has perished.
So when this happens i open a driver .exe that usually acts like the OG driver, but the thing is, that driver asks me for an ip adress on the printer now out of the nothing, like what is this app on about? The window is not bigger than 2x1 cm and displays only ink and number of pages that are waiting on the line. I also tried to Download a new driver from the site, but the same thing, it wants it conected to the internet!
now what i have noticed it that the drivers no longer give you the option for usb conection! It all says MUST BE WIRELESS, I dont want a wireless conection, call me a boomer while not even older than 20, but i dont want my printer wireless, because that aint reliable for me, its allways printer no avaliable!
While talking with the VAssistant it sugested me to trouble shoot the printer trought the HP easy app, the app says, Driver check non avaliable!
ive also seen the active post about that error, but dont be quck to sugest me to:
check my connection! - that thing doesnt work but windows says its conected!
check my cable! - cable works, printer is printing
check drivers - i cannot your drivers say my printer does not exist
turn on the printer - (check 2nd row)
restart printer - doesnt change a thing
restart pc - same as above)
remove and add printers - same
anything of that sort!
its the Driver, but since yall want it to be fixxed online, it cannot because when i go with the online option driver say "Ayoo this thing does not exist!" While its comedically detects it that it is there! i plug in the usb, the driver sees the printer, i unplug the usb driver no detect printer, yet in both cases the error is "Printer doe not exist"

HP thank you for the resoursefull reply, but I kinda found a solution and and a answer to my current problem.
In the next day I was tinkering again with the printer. Now I was in need of the printer itself, but this time it wasn't working for the 1st time and I might have found out the problem.
The cable was dying, in the next morning the cable has officially died by windows literally spamming that the device cannot be recognized.
But before that, I found out that windows can install the drivers for you while inside the windows print menu (that menu when you right click on a file and go to print) . You go to choose printer> find printer> and surprisingly windows finds the printer, wirelessly.
Now if someone else here reads this message for finding a solution or their issue, keep in mind my printer was conected to my wifi from long time ago and that happens only via cable by using the pc to log in, so in this case I was extremely lucky that the setup was already done, cause I'm left without a cable now!
The next part was also tricky, because I have discovered this for the 1st time in my entire life! After choosing the printer windows said: WSP PIN please! - or something like that! Wh- what is that? No information writen on the window so I naturally go to the internet and the 1st thing that pops up is a official tutorial video from HP
But even that video is not helfull, because I will quote what is exactly said in there:
"To find your WSP pin, go to your printer screen or look in the info" with a image of unknown page, like what is that information? Is it the manual?? And I don't have a printer screen! Well... I do, but it only shows 3 things.
After a frustrating good 20 minutes I got up to take a rest and I noticed that the printer is again acting like a cripple and acts like it has no paper while the tray is full. DeskJet 2600 is notorious for not being able to pull in Paper like 80% of the time, so I helped them a little and the thing they printed was THAT PIN CODE.
You guys really need to update your information for printers who are not blessed with the luxury of a screen, and actually explain what THAT INFO IS. Explain that if you don't have a screen, your printer will waste your expencive materials for it!
And that code is valid for like 90seconds, what am I? The flash?
So at the end I managed to fix my wireless connection and now I can use the printer wirelessly and it all turns out, Windows is yet again my savior, I need a new cable, your apps don't work and your official information is bad.
After all this theathre it only proved to me that windows is life windows is love, because blud is smart enough to tell me what's the problem is, compared to the HP doctor who's only response was "Driver setup unknown" go to internet!

Hi @Daelf ,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you're experiencing a frustrating situation with your HP DeskJet 2600 printer and the accompanying software. It can indeed be quite challenging when the provided software doesn't cooperate as expected.
Here are a few steps you might consider to troubleshoot the issue further:
1.Reset the Printer and Computer:
- Hard reset: Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power outlet. Wait for 30 seconds, then plug it back in and turn it on. Restart your computer.
- Windows troubleshooting tools: In Windows 10, go to "Settings" > "Update & Security" > "Troubleshoot" and run the "Hardware and Devices" and "Printer" troubleshooters.
2. Use "Windows Fax and Scan":
While Windows may not show a separate scanner device, you can still scan using the built-in "Windows Fax and Scan" app. Search for it in the Start menu and configure your printer as the scanning device.
3.Alternative HP Software:
Instead of HP Easy Start, try the full-featured HP Smart app or HP Solution Center from the HP website. Ensure you download the correct version for your Windows 10 (64-bit) system.
4.Driver Installation in Safe Mode:
Temporarily boot your computer into Safe Mode and then try installing the HP drivers. Safe Mode minimizes background programs that might interfere with the installation.
5.Disable Antivirus & Firewall:
Temporarily disable any antivirus or firewall software on your computer and try installing the HP drivers. Some security software can block driver installations.
6.Manually Install the Driver: Sometimes, manually installing the driver can bypass certain issues encountered with automated installation processes. You can try downloading the driver from the HP website directly and installing it manually. Make sure to choose the correct driver version for your operating system. HP DeskJet 2600 All-in-One Printer series
7.USB Connection: If the HP software insists on a wireless connection but you prefer USB, you might need to force the USB connection. During the installation process, try connecting the printer via USB and see if the installer recognizes it. Sometimes, the installer might default to wireless but could offer an option to choose USB during the setup process.
8.Scan Functionality: If you're specifically looking to use the scan functionality, you might want to try using the Windows built-in scanning feature. In Windows 10, you can search for "Windows Scan" or "Windows Fax and Scan" in the Start menu to access the native scanning utility. This might allow you to initiate scans without relying on HP software.
9.Check Compatibility: Ensure that the printer model you have is fully compatible with Windows 10 (64-bit). While it should be, sometimes certain compatibility issues can arise due to specific configurations or updates.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
