Hi @Bubbasp1,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP printer keeps showing a "Setup Incomplete" message and prompts you to finish the setup, here are some steps you can try to resolve the issue.

Complete Setup via HP Smart App

Download the HP Smart app on your computer or mobile device if you haven't already.

Follow the on-screen instructions in the HP Smart app to complete the setup. The app typically guides you through connecting the printer to your Wi-Fi network and registering the printer.

Windows/Mac: HP Smart App Download

iOS/Android: Search for "HP Smart" in the App Store or Google Play Store.

Check for Internet Connection

  • Ensure your printer is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as the device you're using to set it up.
  • If using Ethernet, confirm that the cable is securely plugged in and your printer is connected to the network.

Restart Printer and Device

  • Restart your printer by turning it off, unplugging it for 30 seconds, and plugging it back in.
  • Restart your computer or mobile device.
  • Try the setup again through the HP Smart app.

Update Printer Firmware

  • Use the HP Smart app or the printer's control panel to check for any available firmware updates.
  • Updating firmware can resolve many setup issues.

Reset Printer to Factory Settings

  • If none of the above steps work, try a factory reset of the printer:
    • Press the Wireless button and the Cancel button at the same time to restore network settings.
    • Refer to your printer’s user manual for the specific method to restore factory defaults.

Once reset, you'll need to set up the printer again using the HP Smart app.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
