Printing 11x17 using Android app

Unfortunately, software doesn't allow me to select lower tray on my HP 7740 which is where I keep my 11x17 paper

At this writing, I believe the HP App requires that the paper size and type be selected before the job submission process.

There are options that might help, specifically, using the Embedded Web Server (EWS) to select the paper for each tray.  Default Tray preference might be adjusted, too.

NOTE:  Find printer IP address

EWS – Tray and Paper Management / Paper > Trays

Notes

Depending on the printer model, the Printer Control Panel touchscreen might provide access to Paper Size / Type settings immediately after the paper is (re)loaded into the appropriate printer intake tray or when the tray is opened and then closed.

Reminders

EWS (Embedded Web Server) provides access and control for Settings, including Tray and Paper.

and

Paper Size, Type, and Weight loaded in the printer tray must be supported for use in that tray.

Classic EWS - InkJet Printers / Select other printers

Open your Browser

Type / enter the Printer IP address into URL / Address bar

     Note → If your browser security will not let you open EWS, try a different browser.

Tab Settings > Preferences > Tray and Paper (Management)

Select / Adjust settings for Paper Size / Type

Model and EWS version Dependent:  Advanced section

Click Apply to save changes

OR

Alternate EWS format - Select newer InkJet printers and select LaserJet printers

Section Print > Default Print Options > Select default options / tray

Notes

HP Smart / HP App require that paper size / type is rechecked / adjusted before content is opened for print.

Newer printer?  Touchscreen Printer Control Panel locked against making changes?  Try username "admin" and the PIN located on the sticker on the inside of the front door of the printer.

Trays

• If the printer lacks a second tray, all paper / types are supported in the single available tray.
• Printers that include a Photo Tray generally restrict the paper sizes and paper type supported in that tray.
