I'm on MAC 15.01 Sequoia. Before it was updated the ability to print stopped. I can print from my cell phone, my husband's cell phone and his HP computer to the printer. HP has said the printer is not under warranty - of course I know this. It never prevented it from printing before. I get an error message and my printing requests go into waiting mode.
Do I need a new driver?

Hi @SPASgirl
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If you're experiencing printing issues on your Mac after an update, here are some steps to help you resolve the problem:
1. Check Printer Connection
- Ensure that your printer is properly connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your Mac. Sometimes updates can reset network settings.
2. Remove and Re-add the Printer
- Go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners.
- Select your Printer: Click on your printer and then click the minus (-) button to remove it.
- Re-add the Printer: Click the plus (+) button to add the printer back. Make sure to select the correct model.
3. Update Printer Drivers
- You may need to install or update the printer driver:
- Visit the HP Support website and download the latest driver for your printer model.
- Follow the installation instructions.
4. Reset Printing System
If removing and re-adding the printer doesn’t work, you can try resetting the printing system:
- Go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners.
- Right-click (or Ctrl-click) in the printer list and select Reset Printing System.
- Confirm the reset, then re-add your printer.
5. Check Print Queue
- Make sure there are no stuck jobs in the print queue:
- Go to Printers & Scanners, select your printer, and open the print queue to cancel any stuck jobs.
6. Run HP Print and Scan Doctor
- If you can access another computer, you can use the HP Print and Scan Doctor tool to diagnose issues.
7. Check for macOS Updates
- Sometimes, updating macOS can resolve compatibility issues. Check for any available updates in System Preferences > Software Update.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
