HP Laserjet 1018
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

A bizarre problem. I recently upgraded to 2 new identical PCs. I am still using a HP1018 as a network printer. I installed the software on both PCs. I am using Office 365 on both PCs. On my 2 older PC's I was able to print to the HP1018 without any difficulty. On the 2 new PC's, I can print from both PCs using Word, Excel, Quickbooks, etc. BUT I cannot print from Access only using the non-physically attached PC. This happens for any Access file. Using the other networked PC to print the exact same file (from the PC where the printer is attached via USB) is no problem. Bizarre.

Now in Event Viewer the error has do with the ZJBIG.dll module. exception code: 0xc0000005, faulting process 0x4288, fault offset 0x0000000000001875.

I have tried replacing the ZJBIG.dll module in the problem PC but that didn't help. Renaming ZJBIG to ZJBIGx gives a printer not found error when trying to print.

Essentially what happens is that print file spools but hangs in the spooler for the HP1018.

Any thoughts?

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Let's try to do a root uninstall and reinstall of the software:

Unplug any USB cable, if any, before doing this.

1.) In Windows, search for and open Programs and features

2.) Select your HP Printer

3.) Select Uninstall

4.) In Windows, search for and open Devices and printers

5.) In the Devices and Printers windows look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose 'Delete' or 'Remove Device'

6.) Open up the run command with the "Windows key + R" key combo.

7.) Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between "printui.exe" and "/s")

8.) Click on the "Drivers" tab

9.) Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click Remove at the bottom

10.) Select Ok

11.) Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows

12.) Close Devices and Printers

13.) Open up the run command with the "Windows key + R" key combo

14.) Type c:/programdata and click Ok. Go to Hewlett Packard folder, remove any printer related folders & files.

15.) Restart the computer.

Once done, please download and install the software from here:

Let me know if this helps.
