I'm having trouble to print sent documents from my computer - the documents that go to the printer through the printer queue.

I've already uninstalled and installed new software and restarted the printer spool and whatever that is said in here

and I've updated the software going to the software page on hp, and I've used the printer doctor - that showed I can print a page from the internet but not from my laptop, and I've looked into device manager and uninstalled and installed the printer, and I've plugged the printer to a direct source power and not a cable of any sort, and removed the cartridges and restarted the printer and restarted the computer.... I think I've done all I could possibly find on the net. But there must be something I didn't do. What is it?

So my USB showed REST at first so I've deleted the driver and now it shows: HP REST NULL DRIVER

Also in the past when I'd plug the printer to my laptop it would make this sound, like when I plug / unplug a USB device, but now it's not doing that sound at all. I think this is the problem, why it's not doing the "plug in USB sound"? Like there's no connection, but I do see the printer appear and disappear in the device manager- so it is "connected".

But maybe it's not "connected" enough? what?

Hi @Lulu35

Welcome to the HP Support Community. I'd be happy to assist you. If you are able to make a copy on the printer or print from the Internet, it means the hardware of the printer is working fine. This seems like a print driver issue. Let us try these steps:

Install the printer using Windows built-in driver

Refer to this document to know how.

Try printing.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

Hello @Kumar0307

After manually adding the printer following the instructions on this page, it prompts me to print a "test page" and that where it fails. I've removed the device and repeated the steps and the result is print error: "error printing, the printer couldn't print <file name>.

I've tried running the print doctor and again the test page is not printed, it's simply disappears from the queue window and the internet page is printed. Seems like the status of documents printed from the printer queue is either "error" (which I can't explain because it will not tell me what the error is...) or "printing" but actually it's not printing and the document disappears from the queue as if it was printed.

@Lulu35, thank you for the response.

Let us try creating a new user account and check if that helps.

Refer to this document to know how to create a new local account on the PC.

Once the account is created, install the printer driver and try printing.

Let me know how this goes.
