Hi Guys,
I've observed an issue in my infrastructure related to the printing documents from Microsoft Dynamics AX 2009 on HP OfficeJet Pro 8730 printer.
The issue: We switched the HP 8500 A910 series driver to the HP 8720 PCL-3 printer driver on a print server for test purpose for one HP 8730 printer. A document printed from Microsoft Dynamics AX is now halted in half while printing, wait some time (30-45 seconds) and next continue to print + an extra page is printed every time. Such situation is only while we are printing from Microsoft Dynamics AX. If we print a test pages from the printer/print server or documents from Word/Outlook/Notepad everything is printed well without such inconveniences.
DETAILS:
Printer: HP OfficeJet Pro 8730 A4 printer
HP Officejet Pro 8500 A910
Type 3 - User Mode
x64
Packaged - False
XPS Driver - False
Version: 9.84.0.1189
HP OfficeJet Pro 8720 PCL-3
Type 4 - User Mode
x64
Packaged - True
XPS Driver - True
Version: 20.79.1.6692
I've tried to review all settings in the printer configuration on a print server but nothing found. Everything looks ok. Identical as on HP 8500 series previous driver. My assumption is that the HP 8720 PCL-3 driver has a different set of commands than HP 8500 A910 driver and that the document in Microsoft Dynamic AX has been developed based on the HP 8500 print driver and it's set of commands e.g. some escape characters. And to solve the issue some developer need to rebuild the AX document form/design.
Any ideas what the issue could be and any settings on HP print driver which could be reconfigured to solve the issue ?

Hi Guys,
As I checked the problems with HP 8500 are related to newest updates from Microsoft regarding "Print Nightmare" issue.
HP 8500 A910 Type3 x64 driver is not signed by Microsoft and not Packaged. That is why every time during the driver installation there is a window to manually enter administrative credentials which is not acceptable for corporate/enterprise networks.
Could you tell me if you have a driver for HP OfficeJet Pro 8730 series printer which is not PCL-3 but a standard one, it is Packaged and it is signed by Microsoft so there is no need to manually enter administrative credentials every time when the print driver is installed on the system ?
