I have the HP OfficeJet Pro 6968, I'm trying to print using 3 x 5 (inches) flashcards, I've seen a lot of forms about this procedure, but nothing pertains to my situation. I set up a custom print setting on my MacBook Pro in Adobe print settings to print 3 x 5 , nevertheless the actual printer itself will not print that size - with repeated messages that say the following after "Print" has been hit:

- The paper size detected by the printer does not match the paper size selected for the print job. Make sure the paper size is correct to continue the job. Touch X to cancel the print job -

Now when you initially put the 3 x 5 flashcards into the paper loader, you can select "modify" the paper size, however, the closest paper size one can modify to is 4 x 6 on the printer. I selected the 4 x 6 setting and that still won't print the 3 x 5. I try to see if I missed something in the modify settings and the only place I can find to modify paper in the actual printer is when I pull the paper tray out and back in, in order to see the "modify" paper size...

So my questions are these?

Can this printer (HP Officejet Pro 6968 ) print 3 x 5 flashcards? is there a way to get around the preprogrammed settings on the printer?

Also, in order to modify the paper size, I have to pull the tray out and put it back in, is there not a setting on the display screen where I am given the option to modify the paper size? Because I've looked all over the display settings to find anything relevant to paper size or modification.

... This has already taken 4+ hours in trying to figure out how print 3 x 5 flashcards... Shouldn't be this difficult.

@breakthroughr, Welcome to HP Support Community!

I see that you're trying to print 3x5 cards on the printer, but the least paper size the printer supports is 3.9x5.8 inches. Refer to the document Printer Specifications for HP OfficeJet Pro 6900 Printers under the section Paper-Handling Specifications > Supported Cards.

I hope that answers your concern adequately. Let me know!
