HP ENVY 5000 Series

I am trying to print on vinyl glossy paper. I've tried twice, but the black ink does not dry to the paper. I've been searching for ways to correct this common mistake. What settings do I need to change to make my printer print on vinyl glossy paper? Where can I change these settings?  Any images/ screenshots are welcome! I am using a HP Envy 5000 series printer.

The black ink is a pigment based ink, the pigment is suspended in an aqueous solution. The problem is that ink will not try in a reasonable time on an impermeable surface like vinyl. Typically there would need to be either a carrier layer bonded to the vinyl or you would use what professional shops use which is latex ink.

Hello,

Thanks for a reply. I think I'm starting to understand. Now I have further questions. Is it possible to obtain latex ink for an inkjet printer? Do they make latex ink for and inkjet? I have a HP inkjet ENVY 5000. and a HP Officejet Pro 9015e. Would I have to buy CMY and black latex ink or just black latex ink? Is there a recommended place where I could get some? what would be the best brand? Is latex ink expensive? Maybe a better option would be the carrier layer. Is there a type of glossy white vinyl that has such capabilities? What brand of glossy vinyl paper would you suggest and how can I locate it? Thank you again for your response and clearing things up! I've asked around everywhere and this has been the most straight forward answer I've gotten.

Respectfully,

Eugene
