Having similar problem with C309a since installing Windows 10.  Followed your instructions.  However, you did not advise at what point to reinstall ink cartridges, nor at what point to plug back in USB cable.  Pls advise.

Hi @elantiq

This is a wonderful place to converse with the community, get assistance and find tips.

I reviewed your post and understand that you are having issues printing form your printer.

I’d love to help!

I recommend you follow below steps and check if it helps.

1.) In Windows, search for and open Programs and features

2.) Select your HP Printer

3.) Select Uninstall

4.) In Windows, search for and open Devices and printers

5.) In the Devices and Printers windows look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose 'Delete' or 'Remove Device'

6.) Open up the run command with the "Windows key + R" key combo.

7.) Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between “printui.exe” and “/s”)

8.) Click on the "Drivers" tab

9.) Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click Remove at the bottom

10.) Select Ok

11.) Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows

12.) Close Devices and Printers

13.) Restart the PC

14.) Download and install the printer software from the below link.

Bless you!!  I just went through the procedure you recommended and it appears that the printer is properly functioning.  At least I was able to get "Alignment Successful"  where before, I always got "Alignment Failed".  This is a hopeful sign that the other functions, including faxing and now scanning will now work properly.   In any case, so far so good.  Many thanks.  I do love this printer and hated to give it up over stupid performance issues.  Hopefully, I will not have to do that thanks to you.

Guess I spoke too soon.  Although your suggestion did correct the "Alignment Failed" problem, I am still not able to print.  I am trying to print from an online PDF, and get only the first five or six lines,  Also, got a window from the HP Solutions Center which first said "Printer Offline", even though the printer was at that point going through its thing.  Have tried to print from my word processor and have same problem.  It also spits out blank pages after the first page only has the five or six lines.  This was one of the problems I had before your suggestion.  Your thoughts.  Thanks.
