I recently switched from an HP Pavilion desktop running Windows 10 to a brand new HP computer running Windows 11. I downloaded the drivers for my HP Envy 4520 printer, but now cannot perform duplex printing. I am only offered the option of single page or double-sided with a manual feed. Since this is a new problem with the new computer, I am wondering if there's a conflict with the operating system. I have tried to go into all the printer settings to find and fix the problem, but don't see a solution. I have read the list of duplex printing problems on this site, and none fits my issue.

Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Let's try to do a root uninstall and reinstall of the software:
Unplug any USB cable, if any, before doing this.
1.) In Windows, search for and open Programs and features
2.) Select your HP Printer
3.) Select Uninstall
4.) In Windows, search for and open Devices and printers
5.) In the Devices and Printers windows look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose 'Delete' or 'Remove Device'
6.) Open up the run command with the "Windows key + R" key combo.
7.) Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between “printui.exe” and “/s”)
8.) Click on the "Drivers" tab
9.) Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click Remove at the bottom
10.) Select Ok
11.) Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows
12.) Close Devices and Printers
13.) Open up the run command with the "Windows key + R" key combo
14.) Type c:/programdata and click Ok. Go to Hewlett Packard folder, remove any printer related folders & files.
15.) Restart the computer.
Once done, please download and install the software from here:

I followed your instructions, but it still doesn't do duplex printing. In step 1, there was no Programs and features on my computer. I found apps and features, but there was no app for my HP printer. So I couldn't select the HP Printer (step 2) or Uninstall (step 3). Also, In step 9 - there was no HP Printer driver in the Drivers tab., so I couldn't perform steps 10-12. Also, in Step 14, there was no Hewlett Packard folder in programdata, so I couldn't remove any printer related folders or files.
Any other suggestions?

I would suggest you try the Windows built-in drivers. Follow the steps below:
• Go to Control Panel - Devices and Printers - Click on "Add printer" and follow the on-screen instructions.
• When the page prompts for the drivers, select "Windows update". The driver list will be updated.
• Click HP, Hewlett Packard, or Hewlett-Packard in the Manufacturer pane, and then click the name of your printer in the Printers pane.
Refer to this document HP Printers - Installing and Using the Windows Built-in Print Driver for help.

Hi@dontenor,
Welcome to the HP Support Community! I'd like to help!
I see you are experiencing duplex printing issues with the HP Envy 4520 Printer.
I have a few recommendations
- Right click on printer, select printer properties. Select the Device settings tab. Ensure that the duplex unit is set to Installed rather than Not installed. Let me know if that works..
- Right click the printer icon, then click Printer Properties. Click the Device Settings tab. Set the Automatic Two-Sided Duplex Accessory as installed and click OK to save the change. Now Automatic Duplexing should become available again..
Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
Please click “Accept as Solution” if you feel my post solved your issue, it will help others find the solution.
