Hello everyone,
I am having great difficulty installing HP 7740 printer driver in windows XP, which I still use for some programs.
I read that someone managed to install !!!
as a W8WCA user. how did you do?
I would be infinitely grateful if you help me
I understood that during the driver installation process,
the problem consists in not recognizing the validity of a certificate contained in the driver installation file:
Symantec Class 3 SHA256 Code Signin CA
i don't know how to fix it
Andrew

Hi @Andrea_67,
Welcome to the HP Support Community
I understand you are facing an installation issue with your HP OfficeJet Pro 7740 Wide Format All-in-One Printer. Not to worry I will help you to get a resolution to resolve the issue.
To assist better:
- Are you the administrator of the PC?
- Are you able to add the printer to any other PC to check?
- Any pending updates on your Windows XP OS?
While you respond to that, Let's perform a power drain:
- With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer and also unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
- Remove USB cable, if present.
- Wait for 2-3 minutes, press and hold the power button on your printer for about 30 seconds to remove any additional charge.
- Now plug back the power cable straight to a wall outlet without any surge protector or an extension cord (This is important) and then plug back the power cord to the printer.
- Turn on the printer and wait till warm-up period finishes and the printer is idle
Update the printer firmware
- Click here to download and install the latest printer firmware from your product
- Click here to know different methods of updating printer firmware.
If the issue persists, then try adding a local account on your Windows XP operating system, and then try adding the printer to the PC.
If the issue persists then you might have to re-install the operating system once and then try to add the printer.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
