The problem began to occur after the latest Windows 10 update made automatically by the system and only affects to HP-tool ''HP Solution Center''. The scan process starts because a sound is heard after the click on the scan-button but suddenly is halted and a window turns up with the message ''Error accessing the files and resources of the equipment (PC)''. The error 4,[(3,14,0)] is shown. If the scan of either a document or image is carried out by the use of Microsoft_Paint then it works fine. So, it looks that the trouble is not in the printer itself but in the PC software. HP programs were fully uninstalled and then installed back with the newest installing file: HP-Deskjet-F4580-Full-Feature-Drivers-and-Software-for-windows-8-8.1-and-10. That did not solved the problem. Any idea?

Hi, Jay_G24
As you suggested I have downloaded and installed ''HP Scan and Capture'' and works fine as well.
I have already taken some scan practices by its use and I can say that it is interactive and easy to manage. So, I have another extra tool for my scans.
Clearly, the scanning-trouble I had at a given time was any incompatibility between the drivers used by ‘’HP Solution Center’’ and my current Windows’10 update.
I will use either ‘’NAPS2 or ‘’HP Scan and Capture’’ for my scan operations from now on and put aside ‘’HP Solution Center’’ except for new or refill cartridge calibrations.
Thanks for your helpful support.

Hi @Antoni_R
Welcome to the HP Support Community. I'd be happy to assist you
Due to the current global COVID-19 situation, we're seeing an influx of customers coming in for support. We appreciate your patience.
Use HP Print and Scan Doctor
Download HP Print and Scan Doctor and run the program. It will automatically diagnose and fix any printer connectivity issues.
For more information, go to https://support.hp.com/us-en/topic/printscandoctor
Let's try and uninstall the printer software from the root level on your PC and install the full feature printer software.
--->In Windows, search for and open Programs and Features.
--->Select your HP printer.
--->Select Uninstall.
--->In Windows, search for and open Devices and Printers.
--->In the Devices and Printers window look for your HP Printer. If you see it listed, right-click on it and choose "Delete" or "Remove Device.”
--->Open up the run command with the "Windows Key + R" key combo.
--->Type printui.exe /s and click OK.
--->Click on the Drivers tab.
--->Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it click on it and click remove at the bottom.
--->Select OK.
--->Select Apply and OK on the Print Server Properties windows.
--->Close Devices and Printers.
And then reinstall the printer full-featured drivers from software and drivers page
Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

Hi, @Jay_G24,
I have already done what you suggested me step by step . The HP Print&Scan Doctor program also tells me to reinstall the whole software and drivers because it did not find a less drastic solution. I removed and reinstalled back software and drivers related to the HP F4500 series and the problem remains when trying to scan by the use of the tool-program ''HP Solution Center'', which is provided and automatically installed by the HP Soft Package. It prompts the same reported ''error code'' and scan process is suddenly halted. However, when I use MS-Paint to scan both the equipment and software work fine. Of course, MS-Paint is a limited tool to be used regularly as scan-program.
Eventually I have found a solution: I’ m no longer gonna use ‘’HP Solution Center’’ as scan-program. It will merely still work as ink-cartridges calibrator. Instead, I have downloaded and installed ‘’NAPS2’’ for scanning operations. It works fine for both documents and images, which are scanned in a good resolution and then the resulting file may be converted into anyone of the most popular graphic formats, such as jpg, jpeg, png, tiff, etc
Anyway, thanks a lot for your support.
