HP Officejet PRO 8620

Hi,

I own a HP Officejet PRO 8620. On this printer I configured SNMP because this printer, among other network devices, is monitored by the Network Management System Observium.

In Network --> Advanced Settings --> SNMP I can configure the public and private community string. But I did not found any possibility to enter a sysname, syslocation and syscontact.

When I go to Tools --> Utilities --> Asset Tracking I see yhat I can fill in Device Name, Device Location and Contact Person. I assume this wil be used by SNMP.

For the device name I want to fill in "Sur les Chenes 3, 6960 Manhay, Belgium". This is the location string I use on all SNMP capable devices.

There are two problems however. I can only fill in 32 characters here while RFC 1213 says that the string length is 255. So for testing purposed I filled in "Sur les Chenes 3, 6960 Manhay" which is less than 32 character. However if I do an snmpwalk on the sysLocation nothing is returned. sysContact and sysName are returned as it should by snmpwalk.

What is going on here?

I tried a Factory reset in the menu on the the touch screen of the printer. I also performed a Semi-full reset in the hidden support menu on the printers touch screen.

Nothing helps, still not able to snmpwal the sysLocation. I can walk all other snmp entrie like sysContact, sysName, etc.

Anyone knows what's going on here.

Thank you very much,

Erik
