Hi @Julio071,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

To reset your HP LaserJet MFP 182 printer to its factory settings and remove the forgotten administrator password, follow these steps.

Factory Reset via Control Panel

  1. Power On the Printer: Ensure the printer is turned on.
  2. Access the Menu: Press the Home button on the printer's control panel.
  3. Navigate to Settings:
    • Use the arrow keys to navigate to Settings.
    • Press OK.
  4. Select Restore Defaults:
    • Scroll down to Restore Factory Defaults (or similar option).
    • Press OK.
  5. Confirm the Reset: Confirm the action when prompted. This will restore the printer to factory settings, including the administrator password.

Reset via HP Utility

If you cannot access the control panel, you may need to use the HP Printer Assistant or HP Smart app on your computer:

  1. Download and Install the Software: If you haven’t already, download the HP Smart app or HP Printer Assistant from the HP website.
  2. Connect the Printer: Ensure your printer is connected to your computer via USB or network.
  3. Open the Software: Launch the HP Smart app or HP Printer Assistant.
  4. Navigate to Printer Settings: Look for printer settings or maintenance options.
  5. Restore Factory Defaults: Find the option to restore factory defaults and follow the on-screen instructions.

Note

Performing a factory reset will erase all settings, including network configurations and customizations, so you will need to set everything up again afterward.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
