Hi there,
yesterday I upgraded to Windows 10 Version 2004. So far so good.
Since then I get the same error several times a day: It is an Application Error regarding the Driver Installation Module and the hpbcoins64.dll which is part of my driver software.
Windows tries to somehow update the driver and fails.
I have had this problem for several years but so far the workaround was to just hide the update via wushowhide.diagcab
Since Windows as Microsoft told me is no longer supporting driver updates via the update function the HP driver update is no longer in the update list and therefore I cannot hide it.
So I am stuck with this error.
I tried several things: inplace-upgrade, clean install, un-installing re-installing the driver package, changing the device installation settings but nothing worked.
I contacted Microsoft and they tried to generate a registry key to get rid of the error:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows
Right-click on the "Windows" key and select "New -> Key".
Name the key as "WindowsUpdate".
Right-click on the right panel and select "New -> DWORD (32-bit) value".
Name the value as "ExcludeWUDriversInQualityUpdate".
Double click on the new value.
Enter "1" in the value data field.
Click on the "Ok" button to save changes.
Close registry.
Restart Windows.
This also didn't work.
So they told me to contact HP support as all the troubleshooting steps for Windows have been performed already.
So HP support should now fix that driver issue.
The latest driver for my printer is from 2016, there is no newer driver available.
Please, consider generating an updated driver that will fix my issue.
Thanks in advance.
Stay safe.

Welcome to HP support community.
This might require remote access of the computer to fix the issue.
I request you to talk to HP support.
They might have multiple options to help you with this.
- Click on this link - https://support.hp.com/us-en/contact-hp?openCLC=true
- Select the country.
- Enter the serial of your device.
- Select the country from the drop-down.
- Click on "Show Options".
