During setup of newly purchased 9120E, received error code EBSOOP1504.  Unable to complete setup

Key Troubleshooting Steps for 9120E Setup Failure:
 

  • Perform a Hard Reset: Turn off the printer, unplug the power cord for 60 seconds, plug it back in, and turn it on.
     
  • Force Setup Mode: If the printer isn't found, hold the Wireless and Cancel buttons together for 5 seconds until the power button/lights blink, ensuring it is ready for connection.
     
  • Use the Correct App: Ensure you are using the HP Smart app for setup, not just basic drivers.
     
  • Check Network: Ensure your mobile device or computer is connected to the same 2.4GHz/5GHz Wi-Fi network and that Bluetooth is enabled.
     
  • Alternative Method: If using a Windows computer, try setting up via mobile, or vice versa, if the initial method hangs.
