Hi @macgirl2,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If you're experiencing issues with the printer icon on your dock, there are a few steps you can try to troubleshoot and resolve the problem.
Restart Your Computer: Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve connectivity or display issues. Try restarting your computer and check if the printer icon reappears.
Check System Preferences: Ensure that your printer is properly set up in the System Preferences on your Mac.
- Open "System Preferences" from the Apple menu.
- Select "Printers & Scanners."
- Make sure your HP OfficeJet Pro 9025 is listed in the left-hand column. If it's not, click the '+' button to add it.
Check Dock Settings: Confirm that the printer icon is not hidden or restricted in your dock settings.
- Right-click (or Control-click) on an empty space in your dock.
- Hover over "Options" and check if "Keep in Dock" is selected for your printer. If not, select it.
Reset Dock Preferences: You can try resetting the Dock preferences. Please note that this will reset the dock to its default settings, so any customization will be lost.
- Open Terminal (you can find it in Applications > Utilities).
- Type the following command and press Enter:
defaults delete com.apple.dock; killall Dock
- After executing this command, your Dock will restart, and the printer icon may reappear.
Reinstall Printer Drivers: It's possible that the printer drivers are corrupted. Reinstall the printer drivers by removing the printer and then adding it back.
- Open "Printers & Scanners" in System Preferences.
- Select your printer and click the '-' button to remove it.
- Click the '+' button to add the printer again and follow the on-screen instructions.
Check for Updates: Ensure that your macOS and printer drivers are up to date. Sometimes, updating your operating system or printer drivers can resolve compatibility issues.
- Go to the Apple menu > "System Preferences" > "Software Update" to check for updates.
Remember to check the HP website for any firmware updates or additional troubleshooting steps specific to the HP OfficeJet Pro 9025.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
