I'd like advice on how to do the same.  My printer was purchased in India and I am now in the UK.  Just purchased new black and colour cartridges as old ones were empty and did not realise that region incompatibility was an issue.  It is an HP 2700.

Hi  @SereneNectarine

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

I understand how this situation must feel. Let me explain this, HP printers are designed to work with cartridges that match the region where the printer was originally purchased. Since your printer was bought in India, it expects cartridges manufactured for the India region. Cartridges sold in the UK are coded differently, which is why they aren’t being accepted.

The reset instructions are specific for your printer and performing those steps on a different printer may brick the device.

I've sent you a private message with reset instructions, follow the reset instruction to perform a full reset and re-initialize the printer.

To perform a printer region reset you need to meet the following conditions:

1. You need to have the printer full feature software installed on your computer.

2. You need to have all the cartridges either from the region/country from where the printer was purchased originally or the new region/country to which you want to reset it to.

3. Make sure HP Smart App is installed too.
