I have the same issue with my Smart Tank 7007 printer in Windows 11. If I use the Microsoft IPP Class Driver alone, I can open the print preferences, but once I install the Print Support Application, the Preferences window will crash with the error message reported by the initiator of this thread. I had hoped to be able to use the AI feature, which is only available through the Print Support Application, but not being able to access the Preferences menu is clearly not worth it.  I therefore reverted back to the classic PCL-3 driver for now, hoping HP is aware of this problem and will soon provide a solution.
